Obituary for Anastacia Cantu

Anastacia  Cantu
Anastacia Cantú (Salinas) was born and raised in Congregación Cantú/ Nuevo León, México to Cecilia Cantú Ríos and Juan Salinas Cantú.
She grew up in Mexico with her brothers and sister. Anastacia came to the United States in 1965 with her family in the pursuit of a better life. She started working in 1969 in a manufacturing firm located in Chicago, Illinois.
Anastacia married the love of her life, Eliseo in 1952 they met in Congregation Cantu NL Mexico and together they raised 6 children. She came to La Porte in 1989 and for a period of time moved to McAllen, Texas. Until settling down permanently in La Porte in 2007.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking and could grow just about anything. Anastacia was always very friendly and kind toward the people she interacted with. She had a unique sense of hospitality to all of the people who visited her. Always offering something delicious to eat and warm cup of coffee. Anastacia accepted Jesus Christ as her savior on August 29, 1991 and was baptized on February 23, 1992.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Benito Salinas and an infant daughter, Araceli Cantú.
Anastacia is survived by her husband, Eliseo; her children, Maria Guadalupe Pena and husband Raul Pena, Hermila Cantú Salinas, Dora Imelda Solis and husband, Francisco Solis , Margarita Cantú and husband Ramiro Cantu and Eliseo Cantu Jr and wife Elizabeth Cantu. She will be remembered by her siblings, Benito Salinas, Santos Sepulveda and Atanasio Salinas. Her memory will carry on with her grandchildren, Raul Pena, Joel Pena, Maria Guadalupe Perez, Mario Ramon Perez, Lararo Perez, Isaac Solis, Samuel Solis, Edgar Eliseo Cantú and Alex Cantú. She also had eleven Great Grandchildren. There are many friends and extended family that will miss her greatly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Stepping Stone Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM, with Service immediately following at 7 PM. We will meet again on Thursday, October 5 at Stepping Stone at 10:00 am and continue on to La Porte Cemetery for burial.
