Gladys Alviarene (Massey) Barnes was born May 9, 1928 to Grady and Lilly Massey in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Gladys returned to the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2018, finally at peace and free from pain.
While living in Mississippi, Gladys met and married Cecil Killingsworth. Together they had one son; David. But life had other plans. Her sister, Lucille was battling cancer and Gladys was more than willing to help with her sister’s fight. She packed up her son David and moved to the Houston area.
Gladys met James and married in 1956 and soon after added Betty to the family. A few years later son Mark joined in. Gladys was a very loving wife and mother. She also worked at the Rainbow Bakery and Schlumberger. In addition to her family, Gladys was very dedicated to the United Pentecostal church. She enjoyed her XYZ Club and any game night. Gladys also loved to cook. She was amazing in the kitchen and always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
