Raymond Ojeda, 55, of La Porte, left this Earth to be with our Lord on November 30th of 2020, just one day short of his 56th birthday. Raymond fought the good hard fight up until the end, where he went peacefully passing in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loved ones.
A 1984 graduate of La Porte High School, Raymond loved all things La Porte including fishing, old friends, and local get togethers such as Sylvan Beach Day, and The Lomax Cook-off. Raymond really enjoyed helping people out and did so continuously. He will be remembered for his kindness, big heart, gracious giving, and awesome sense of humor.
Raymond loved his family tremendously, and took pride in his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind many memories of laughter and silliness because that was the kind man he was. When you think of him and remember his laughter, random sayings, and humor you can't help but smile and laugh yourself. These are the memories of him that we shall hold on to cherish forever.
Left to treasure these memories are his father Eluterio Ojeda, his beloved mother, Mary Elliott (Gene), daughter Jessica Rae Williams (Raymond Olvera), son Jeffrey Chase Gonzales (Samantha) and their mother Kathryn Ojeda, son Bradley Ojeda (mother Erin Illingsworth). Grandchildren who will miss their PoPo include Hayle, Adam, and Mia Gonzales, and Kathryn (KC) Williams. He also leaves behind older brother Robert Ojeda (Nancy), and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private funeral service is being planned under the direction of Stepping Stone Funeral Home in La Porte for family with a public Celebration of Life to follow at a later date for his many friends.
Now as Raymond would say “I gotta get to work, places to be, people to meet and hands to shake."
