Charlotte Anne (Bradshaw) Edwards, 58, died at 12:53 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from unexpected post-surgical complications.
Anne was born on June 17, 1956 in Charleston, West Virginia and was the second child and first daughter of Bertha Francis (Smith) and George Burt Bradshaw, Jr. Anne settled in La Porte in 1967 and grew into a dynamic individual. Not only did Anne become a wife and mother who raised five wonderful children, she also had a career she loved, and many friends to encourage and support throughout her life. She loved life, her family, her church, and her testimony of Jesus Christ.
Anne graduated from La Porte High School in May of 1974 and began attending the University of Houston with the intent to pursue a degree in musical performance for the bassoon. She later attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus and pursued a degree in Exercise Physiology and Health and Human Performance. She married David Edwards of La Porte, Texas in June of 1975. Anne spent many years working as the Aquatics Director for the Fitness Center at South Shore Harbor. Since 2001, she has been a top-producing Realtor and was currently the Broker/Owner of Edwards & Company Real Estate Services.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Brian Edwards, her parents, Bertha Francis (Smith) and George Burt Bradshaw, Jr., as well as her brother, John Ralph Bradshaw.
Anne is survived by four of her children, Laura Renée (husband Brian Kenneth) Evans, Christopher Michael Edwards, Elizabeth Anne Edwards and George Thomas Edwards. She will be greatly missed by the grandchildren that adored her, Addison Anne Evans, Benjamin Kenneth Evans and Nathaniel Robert Evans; as well as her nephew, Sean Bradshaw and her niece, Melissa Bradshaw. Words cannot express the sorrow at the loss of her friendship by her former spouse David Edwards and many friends and extended family.
In her own words on her last birthday: “Thanks everyone for your happy birthday wishes. It has been a peaceful day at work. Also had a chance to walk to the beach and enjoy the sunset after dinner. God is good, life is good, thanks again and many blessings to all.”
